Natalie Portman: my lucky charm?
So, DatMoney is having a cool little contest sponsored by Market Leverage and are giving away some pretty cool toys. The cool part, besides the prizes lol, is since Jason likes blogging about hot women, among other things, he made the contest fun and let the contestants blog about some fun stuff as their entries.
So, what do I write about to get my entries? I just have to post about which celebrity I would date if I could choose any! Easy enough ;). So, guess who the lucky girl is…
I have to be honest and say my most likely number one choice would be Jessica Alba. I’ve had a crush on her since I first saw her in the Idle Hands movie. And since it’s cool to know about people (or bands) before they are well known, back then she was definitely a hottie but that was before most everyone knew who she was. BUT, even though I’d still give her a shot at the title, I have to admit that her just giving birth and all makes me feel a bit guilty and I’d hate to break up what seems to be a happy new family just for my little crush.
So, right now, if I could date any celeb it would have to be Natalie Portman. She may not be the most popular, though everyone knows her. She may not be the hottest woman in the world, though she definitely has the looks. But, at least to me, she pretty much has it all. Shes definitely got that "cute-hot" thing down where she can look sexy as hell but also has that really cute "girl next door" look and is still absolutely beautiful even without all the makeup that comes along with hollywood.
Of course my attraction to her isn’t all just physical. Not only is she just beautiful, shes also really tallented, is really down to earth and a really good person in general. She’s definitely the kind of girl you’d be proud to "bring home to mom" and get a high-5 from dad at the same time lol. And yeah I wouldn’t have too much of a problem breaking up a happy relationship for my greedy plans lol ;).

If you haven’t heard of Market Leverage yet then you really must have some great ad blinders on. Not only that but you must be great at avoiding pretty much every marketer blog on the net as they have been super busy buying up ads on blogs and sending out tons of freebies to the bigger blogs. There are even numerous pictures of their entire office pimping out big blogger shirts!
So you have probably seen at least a few “brag” post about the cool gift packs all the various bloggers have been getting or the various contest sponsored by Market Leverage for similar grab bags.
It’s great promotion and obviously getting some attention since you can’t visit a “make money online” blog without seeing some mention of Market Leverage these days. And to be honest, every time I have seen a rep post or comment on one of the blogs, they do actually seem to be pretty helpful and not just a bunch of spamming kiss asses.
It is obvious, though, that some of the “bigger” blogs that have been sent freebies don’t even use Market Leverage. Yeah, doesn’t really matter as far as getting exposure but kind of sucks they will send out freebie promo items to bloggers that don’t, and probably won’t, end up even promoting any of their offers.
So since everyone else is doing it, here is my brag post of all the cool promo items that came in the mail today…check out my grab bag of Market Leverage goodies:
Yep, that is just an empty box…since I haven’t gotten anything :(. And yes, I am just jealous and being silly but even the smaller guys like to get some attention sometimes ;).
I’ve been a publisher with Market Leverage for about a month now and they actually do have some decent payouts compared to the few other networks I use. I’ve only been testing a couple offers to see how conversions compare but so far pretty happy. Well besides the fact I’m feeling kind of left out as far as all the cool goodies they are giving everyone BUT me :(. Yeah, I know, giving me a cool bag with all the great toys and having me brag about it on my blog won’t bring them very much attention or many new affiliates but doesn’t mean I don’t want to feel special too. I want one of new Flip video cameras damnit!
Regardless of my silly whining, I do think Market Leverage is a great option for marketers looking for another source for offers. From my limited testing so far, on the offers I usually use, they have better payouts and so far conversions look good. I’ll post an update after working a few more of the offers and sending some real traffic to them. I also plan to do some “split testing” between a few of the networks to see how much better they may be.
Now I just need to find a network that will send me a Flip Cam regardless of my small time blog 
… Hint, Hint!

Affiliate Confessions is another great blog that got the Market Leverage prize pack to give away to readers but went a bit further than most blogs by also giving away some other cool prizes like a Nintendo DS (with a couple games) and some really fun prizes from Vat19. Another Market Leverage contest thanks to Zak
Market Leverage is sending out tons of freebies to bigger bloggers and now also giving out “prize packs” for those same bloggers to give away in various types of contest. Zac Johnson is now in on the game and thankfully, all the prizes are not limited only to new referrals that he gets to sign up.
